ABOUT
A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń. She obtained her diploma in Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art (specialization: polychrome painting and sculpture) in 2012.
During the studies, she discovered her passion for realistic painting. Exploring the work and painting copies of old masters helped her understand the secrets of traditional crafts, which then strongly influenced her own work. Over the years 2012-2019, she was professionally involved in the conservation of many historic objects, including oil paintings, altars and frescoes, in the meantime developing her own work and painting portraits for private commissioners. Author of, among others: portraits of Honorary Citizens of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Since 2020, she has focused mainly on painting, working in three classic themes: the human figure, landscape and still life, the latter of which gives her the most freedom and allows her to create her own, intimate worlds on canvas. For the artist, color and light are the language of speaking about the fleeting moods and impressions she experiences. In the series titled “Fragile frames”, she uses props to refer to the universal longing for childhood and the search for connection with ancestors.
The artist’s first individual exhibition took place in January 2022 at Dwór Artusa in Toruń.
